Because of the small atmosphere, on a normal day the temperature raises to 800 degrees F, on the dark side, -300 degrees F. 3. It takes about 59 earth days for Mercury to rotate once and 180 earth days to reach one sunrise to the next. 4. Mercury has no moons. 5.In a mission to Mercury in 1991, they fond there is water in the deepest, coldest craters on the planet. 6. Because of Mercury’s scorching hot temperature and thin atmosphere, it’s probably not a good idea to visit there any time soon. 7. Mercury is the closest to the sun. 8. Mercury is a red-brown color. 9. Mercury is compared to the moon by size and look although Mercury weighs more than the Moon due to its solid iron core. 10. Mercury has no rings. 11. Mercury’s mass is estimated at 3.3 x 1023 kilograms
